Ok so me and my brother just bought this 92 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. It ran good the day we test drove. On the way home it lost all of its oil. Fixed that problem it was the oil cooler became loose. Next problem was the idle was rough. It has some mods on it but still has stock injectors. I don't know if this is related or not. It has the Check engine light. Is there a way to check that first of all? Then we were driving it to the car wash to get it washed all I did was wash the under side of the motor and car, we drive maybe 20 feet and it just dies. We tried to get it started for a while. Here are the mods,

THE CAR HAS 163120 MILE ON IT
THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION HAS 63120 ON IT. IT WAS REBUILT AT 100K
VISCUS LSD REAR END
ITS HAS A PORT AND POLISED
HEAD 3 ANGLE ,
HKS 202 CAMS
NEW EVO3 BIG 16G PORTED
HARD I/C PIPING GREDDY TYPE-S BOV
NOLOGY COIL PACKS
DTT(DUEL TURBO TIMER)
STOCK 450CC INJ
MASTER BRG & OVERHAUL KIT 1ST.2ND.3RD. 1-2-3-4HUB AND SLEEVE, REVERSE IDLER
NEW HEAD GASKET
NEW FULL CUSTOM 3" TURBO BACK WITH N1 CAN
NEW WATER PUMP
NEW ALTERNATOR
NEW BATTERY
NEW TIME BELT BALANCE SHAFT BELT AND ALL OTHER BELTS

If you could give me some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated?

Hi I havn't ever had this problem with my talon but I had a honda:notgood: and I washed up in the engine compartment and one of my connectors were loose and water got in it and it was already corroding because it was loose not to mention broken so then the water coroded it more and then the car wouldnt start so I got a new connector and it started right up just something small to check.

Well to get the check engine light checked you can take it to a local shop and they could hook up the diagnostics machine to it and check it. As for the car dying, what does it do when you try to start it up?

Here is my problem I can't get it started at all now. Is there a way I can check the engine light myself. Like do some key cycles on it or something. The motor spins a little slow for what I think it should be doing. I don't know if its getting spark or fuel. What are some good ways to test that? Yesterday the car just died and we couldn't restart. It made some noise that sounded like the exhaust was dragging.

Was the car running when you sprayed it? I'm guessing you have a non stock air filter. Any chance you soaked it that by accident? Or maybe a vacuum line got knocked off?
Otherwise I'd say you hosed a sensor some where. Unplug the battery for a few mins and see if that resets the CEL.
I think the key trick only worked on 95 + 96? Chilton manual does list in the book though.. You turn the key on and off three times leaving it in the ON position, all within 5 secs. Your light should start to blink.
You can test spark easy, just pull a spark plug wire and have it pointed at a something grounded and see if the sparkcomes out while someone turns it over.
To see if it's not getting fuel, just spray a lil either into the intake while someone is turning it over. If she runs for a quick second, (assuming you already checked for spark) you know she is not getting fuel.
A whole bunch of reasons for that. Could even be just a fuse. Process of elimination and I'm sure the tech articles have something.

Good luck!

Ya i was thinking the same thing with the filter. But hopefully that didnt happen because that can cause major issues. I would check all the fuses. Do you have a system? Because that might not be hooked up correctly and it might be draining power?

There could be a million things that could be wrong. Your just going to have to go through it with a fine tooth comb so to speak. But good luck with it man.

I have found out that it is getting spark. The fuel I am not 100 % sure if its getting fuel. The plugs have a gas smell to them though. I have replaced the plugs and wires. They were disgusting looking. What else should I check?

Did you spray the either?
Did you disconnect the battery?
Did you really run ALL the oil out?

Does it sound like it's trying to start? Or is it just spinning with no change?
Is your timing belt still in the right position?
Did you do a compression check?
It's hard to say exactly without hearing what it sounds like..

Check all those things...
