Running a Hacked MAF

Well i did search for this but couldnt find an exact answer i was looking for so plz help me real quick.
I think the stock unmodded MAF i have in my 91 may be bad, and i was gonna swap it out with the one originally in the car, which is hacked by having the lower honeycombs removed.
What problems will there be with the hacked MAF? I was told that a 1g is ok with a hacked MAF and some say its the worst thing to have for fears of running lean. Any help?

i have a hacked my maf and it runs perfect also if your planning on running high horses you can also use a mas from a 95 and up im not sure of the site though that says how to wire it up your original maf is acurate up to about 350 hp but the 95+ is good up to 500hp try checking out machv.com if your interested in the switch im sure they can tell you how or who can

Thats fot a 2G MAF in a 1G. I already have mine and a K&N filter and pipe is coming soon. But to successfully do that you must also upgrade your fuel system(pump, injectors, AFPR) or you will be running lean. An AFC will also help you tune, but I've read that if you run the 2g MAF, with a set of 550's and a pump and regulator it should run pretty well with little to no tuning.

honestly do not remove any honeycombs from your maf...IMO not a good idea..just get a 2g maf DO NOT remove the honeycombs and your set will flow 2-3 times more..
