This is a question for the oil pan. My friend used black RTV on his oilpan and it leaks from there. IS there a different color RTV I can use? Or should I just use that paper gasket. Thanks

i always use rtv sealant, and a gasket.
That was the procedure for any car that didnt have a reusable gasket at the stealership i worked in. also to tighten the oil pan bolts down just barely to begin with, let it sit a good hour or so (depending on outside temp) to let the sealant set. then tighten them down.
this way all the sealant doesnt get squeezed out. which will then lead to a leak, especially if you get a cork gasket, as it can also lead to the gasket splitting.
one of my friends just did a tranny service on his car and overtightened his pan gasket. then asks me why it could be leaking....

personally i use the hondabond i have no leaks on my pan and even have a windage tray also, which uses the hole pan bolts to hold it in place, and no gasket.

i used one of those pointed end you put on the tube and make a bead about 4mm in diameter around the pan, put it all around the bolt holes, and as long as a screwdriver was used to pry and the oil pan off it should not leak.
