RS-49 turbo need info

i just recently bought a rs-49 turbo. i was just wondering if anybody had some interesting factoids? i found out today they dont sell them anymore from what i heard/?? if any have anything,please let me know like what this thing is capable of whp,what is it a 50 trim?is it a good turbo? sell it,keep it? i have it on a car with some mild motor work.

It's a TO4E 50 trim compressor wheel, there were multiple compressor housing options, but it's most likely the TO4E 3" inlet/2" outlet. If it's the pre-turbonetics center section, they are decent turbo's. If it has the turbonetics center, it's not so great.

Somewhere between 400-500whp depending on supporting mods, tuning, and which turbine housing you use.

If the turbo is an AGP I'd be careful on how far you push it. I had a RS60 and it shitted on me. AGP designs their bolt-on very badly let alone Turbonetics turbo itself is crap. They said it could be 30 psi. but it didn't even last when I was running it 22 psi.

I would sell it, they are junk. My buddy ran one for like a month and it bit the dust, now its gettin rebuilt for like 300$, get rid of it.

Like I said in my first post, if it has a turbonetics chra it's junk. If it's pre-turbonetics it's not junk.

how do you know if it is a pre-turbonetics verse a turbonetics center housing?

What's it say on the CHRA? The AGP RS49 is generally considered the 'good' turbo, whereas the RS49T is the turbonetics garbage that was so affluent during the 50 trim craze about a year or two ago.

yeah the guy i got it from said,it is a rs-49 not agp. i have like three project i am building. and i am iffy about this one with the rs-49.everybody talks shit about it. i just dont want something to break,and it messes my motor up.

I would e-mail AGP and ask them. If it's an RS49, they built/sold it.
