Anyone using this set on there 1G AWD?
It's KYB AGXs in the rear and Koni Sports in the front, shortened one inch.

Also anyone using these with Eibach Sportline springs?

Anyone know why RRE decided to use the AGXs in the rear and the koni's up front instead of vice versa? I know the konis have the shorter height, but if i remember correctly, and i think i do, the AGX's valving even on the softest setting is generally considered too stiff in the rear.

Or i could be completely wrong, it does happen from time to time;)

So true I was just about to reply with the same answer.....

Ur rears already stiff (agx arn't much diff than stock) although the agx up front would work and konis in rear;)

Just helped Bullitt with his setup

(Please dont forget to put your brake line bolt back in place!!!!) ;):talon:

Oh and springs..... Prokit

Gotta disagree, i think the AGX rears are much stiffer. This is why they pose a problem for people, or at least why they complain. Even at the softest setting, they're still to stiff (this is what i have been told, i have no experience as of yet, but we're gonna try them on willwork4b00st's car. that is, once it RUNS :D )

On the prokits though, i do agree. I wouldn't go with sportlines, too much camber (although toe is what you really are worried about). Look in to the H&R springs as well. I think they might actually have stiffer rates than the prokits.

Simple.

The Koni rears can't be adjusted while they are installed even though they are adjustable. The adjust knobs aren't accessible once installed.

The AGXs have their adjuster dials on the body... making adjustments possible.

Why Koni on the front over the AGX? that's simple too. Koni yellows have far superior damping to the AGX. Run the same springs with AGX and Konis and you'll find that the ride is like a pogo stick with the AGX.

But why would one want a shock in the rear that is too stiff, thereby causing the so-called "pogo-stick" effect, even at the sacrifice of ease of adjustability? And if you have a nice-riding front, wouldnt that make the effects of an ultra-stiff rear even worse, thereby making it a tend towards being tail-happy? Am i missing something?

Why don't you call RRE?

*shrug* Some people like cars that oversteer. Matter of preference and style.

However, I don't think RRE meant to do it like that... I think it was just a matter of "what sells". It is a business after all. Plus, that setup has been around for a while and I don't think they've updated their site for quite some time.

PS-I don' think the AGXs are stiff... in fact, they are underdampened. The pogo stick effect is from the shock not having the damping forces it needs to control the ocillations of the spring... hence, bounce bounce bounce. If it was properly vavled... like the Koni... it would control the compression and rebound much better and less likely to bounce. It's a softer shock, if you want to look at it that way. Instead of allowing the suspension to come to rest at equilibrium it's letting the suspension move freely. So the rear end isn't stiffer because your spring rate remains the same. The spring doesn't change... it's just the shock isn't doing its job to oppose the movement of the spring.

Interesting. do the AGXs have the same issues up front? A friend of mine and i are planning on putting a set on his talon (once its running) to see what they're like. i know they have less travel possible.
