I was wondering if my car is reving higher then it should, 98 gsx.
at 100khm its reving between 2300,2400 and at 120khm its 2900
is this normal?

Depends on how you shift too..If you granny hsift it at super low rpms, it can keep the rpms down at highway speeds..

Guessing manual, because I've never seen mine that low at highway speeds..LOL

55mph=2500rpm in 5th. I don't know what that translates to in kph.

I've driven a lot of imports and our cars are geared so that our engines have higher RPMs across the board to deal with the low compression and the turbo lag.

The only time that your engine will rev "too high" is when the clutch is slipping in gear just maintaining speed, in which case you should be ready to call the tow company.
