So I noticed about a year ago now that my rpm was going weird? In any other car I've driven if you let off the gas the rev's slowly drop as the car slows correct!! Well in mine if I let off the gas the rev's drop like 800-1,000 rpm? So I could be driving on a road doing 60 mph and 3,000 rpm then I let off the gas and it will drop to 2,000 and not even had a chance to slow down yet? It all seems very weird to me and I have never seen this before in another car. It might have been doing this all the time ind I just not noticed it but I didn't know if anyone else has had this problem or if its a problem for the car?
My car is an auto and I've not done any ignition mod's!
I know that the rpm runs from the firing of the plugs and relays that to the rpm tach and I cannot find a fault with any of them! Hopefully its a fuel saver method that mitsubishi done haha!

Thanks a lot in advance bobby

In some cars the torque converter lets the engine rev down once you step off the gas. This is to provide better highway gas mileage. How does the car act when you step on the gas again after it drops? Does it bog or anything like that? If everything is fine, then its most likely just your torque converter. Damn automatics

Haha thanks for that info. The car does not bog when it drops it is a pain though as I have to build the boost up and it seems to takes ages but I've read many reasons for that LOL its all good then. Thanks again for the help! I didn't think anything was wrong I had just never seen it happen before LOL
