rpm drops to low shifting

Hey everyone. Just randomly yesterday I noticed when shifting From 2nd to third, the car drops to almost idle and stutters to get along. It's a 98 gs. But I noticed today on my way to school that shifting back n forth Between 2nd and third and downshift between the two was hard.
This problem popped out of no were. Any idea anyone?

update: yesterday when i went from 2nd to 3rd, it went really low so i went back to second, and it shot the rpms back up to about 3100. so i went back into third and had to actually hold the gas n and slowly let out the clutch for it to catch without dropping so low.

How High do you Rev before shifting gears? like 3k or what? You do know that 1st n 2nd are short gears and 3rd is a very long gear. I'd like to see a video of this.

How fast are you going? If I shift into third and 25 then I sure as hell will bog down and it will be slow.

Lol exactly what im saying. like going 35-40 in 5th gear expecting power.

If the gearing is the same in all the models with manual then shifting at 3k will put you at like 2400 in the next gear from 2-3... thats pretty low and will bog

I know this because I usually shift around 3k when I want to be nice to my gst and pretend i get 35 mpg on some days.

Shift around 4k or 4500 and see if that changes things.

If it doesnt when was the last time it had a tune up? Plugs wires oil maybe a treatment of sea foam? The works...

Edit; also if gearing is the same? 2nd will take you to 60 if you dont mind it seeing 6-7k... no need to be in third by 20-30mph
