I was trying to retorque the turbo bolts to get rid of my small exhaust leak, and I inadvertently used a 12 point on one and rounded it.
The rest are fine, but I can no longer remove this bolt.

Does anyone have any ideas how to get it out?
I have more bolts on order.
The threads are perfectly fine *knock knock*, but even a 6point just spins on it now.

I was thinking maybe grind the top off and and drill it for an extractor.
But I have a 2g manifold, so the bolt face is slightly recessed into the manifold slighty.
I dont know how I'm going to grind it all the way down to just the shaft itself.

Any helpful ideas would be appreciated.

And by the way, the exhaust leak is still there.
shoot.

Drill it out.

Drill the head off, take the other 3 bolts out, drop the turbo, and back the remainder of the bolt out by hand.

perhaps u can file/grind it back into a 6 point again? then when it's close just hammer a 1mm smaller socket on it and get that bad boy out

Sounds like an idea.
I may just buy that bolt extractor first, though.
I didnt know something like that existed.

And to think, I was going to buy the new 12 point ARP hardware, but I opted to save and buy new factory 6point instead to save 15 dollars.

You also may try to find a set of the old Metrinch wrenches. They're flank drive instead of point, and are made so that they straddle bolt sizes between metric and inch.

I found my set of Metrinch wrenches/sockets in a pawn shop for $50, with the carrying case. Best tool set i've ever owned!

I personally love vise grips. I am not sure if you can get vise grips on the head of the bolt, but if you can, clamp them on as tight and humanly possible, and heat up the turbo with a torch so it turns easier. I would think that would be easier than drilling the head of the bolt off and using an easy-out. Maybe Im thinking of the wrong bolt?

I used the craftsmen set. Its the best thing for stripped bolts. In fact, I used it on my stripped/rounded turbo bolt. Go check em out. You hammer the right size socket onto the bolt, then use another socket that slips over it and it takes it right out. I used a breaker bar. I'd like to see a bolt extractor bit or easy out get a bolt out of an exhaust housing without breaking.
