My battery died saturday night (heavy night of drinking left the lights on) i just jumped it today (35hrs later) now my car idles at about 200 rpms when i come to stops... i dont know what could cause this, i had the tb censer changed about 2months ago...

well its rough because its idling to low. If it was just a battery I would suggest look around and see if something was bumped.. vac line, idle set screw?

1) I hope you weren't driving drunk...that's bad m'kay
2) Adjust the BISS out (counter-clockwise) and see if you can bring the idle up. I'm wondering if your ISC may have gone out, getting stuck closed causeing the idle to be severely low. If someone else has any ideas...

put your batterie in the charger over night, then start it when you get up my guess it will be ok...it happened to me haha

The alternator would have charged the battery easily. And if this is only happening when you come to a stop, and then it levels out to normal idle RPMS after a while, I would imagine it has nothing to do with the BISS screw either.

I would maybe clean your MAS and make sure you have no boost leaks.

Yeah it sounds like a boost leak . But then again if your alt. is crappy it could be your battery not being able to supply the power needed. Most likely you have an air leak somewhere though.

the batterie was compleatly drained, the alternator is a maintainer its not made to put a full load on a batterie, in that case why do they sell chargers? if you could jump your car and your batterie be fully charged... when hes moving the alternator spins so it raises the voltage and it runs fine but at idle when the alternator is barly putting out, the batterie still has a weak charge causing your ecu to read incorrect voltage along with every sensor ,the car will idle low... the only way to get a full charge is to put the batterie on a charger trust me ...do it and post back...the car ran compleatly fine till the batterie went dead his car didnt devolope any kind of boost or air leak just sitting there...

Battery could be dead as well. By dead I mean the electrodes are toast. Fully cycling a car battery can ruin the plates. Take it into an auto parts store and I bet they will be more than happy to test it and sell you a new one:D

Okay sounds like a plan, im gana go out and get the battery checked and charged tomorrow, idk where the boost leak came from, the car was running okay before hand, and i dont have a Check engine light... thanks guys I will post results asap...

PS I dont drink when I drive...

Yeah ive done this a few times, you have to put it on the charger over night. Lol Mine was so bad one time that whenever i put the clutch in it would stall. Its nothing to worry about just charge that battery up a little more, your only running at around 3V right now?

I just came from autozone, they told me the battery was good and had a charge... but then again the kid looked like he had very little expirence and even less pubic hair. So I bought a new Duralast battery (red) and installed it. Well the car was still idleing low and rough, so I tighten the screw that controls the rev... the thing behind the TB, but I dont know if its the right thing to do? The car idle well now.

also my alarm now works fine, before with the old battery my alarm wasnt sending my remote feedback info about the car (locked, unlocked, running, alarm)

this thread makes me wonder if this is the reason for my cars idle prob, are the chances of a bad alt only being able to keep a battery at ~9-10v probable? im not familiar with alts but can they halfass fail like this?

LOL nah i havn't checked it, i was just guesstamating from this thread about the alt possibly being the reason for a bad idle. the lights do dim from time to time as if i had my amp pumping out some serious watts. but my idle prob remains even during the day with no lights or anything on. the idle is fine in park/neutral but goes from 100-450 rpms in any other gear.

Can anybody tell me what this thing is and what it does? Maybe a pic of how it looks? It doesn't sound like the BISS because that isn't "behind the TB" but more just in front on top of it, assuming you look towards from the front of your car.

edit:
or does he just mean the part where the cable runs from the TB to the gas pedal?
