A friend and me pulled his head off his car to add a new sheetmetal intake. He had a 6-bolt put in about a year ago with ross pistons and egeal rods or so we thought. Do any ross pistons have writing on them? I think there 2g pistons cause it say's 63DT.Just wanted to make sure.

Chances are, if it says 63dt, it is some sort of stock piston. Ive seen both 1g and 2g pistons with the same identification cast into them. I have never seen any aftermarkets pistons with 63dt stamped in them. Usually with ross, wiseco,je, etc usually have just a part# stamped in the top of them. Here is a wiseco, the others should be similar.

If you look on the underside of the pistons Ross pistons will have ROss stamped on them.

Cleaned the piston tops off they are stock. Is there anyway my friend can take this to court he didnt get a print out cause it was from a guy that was starting his own buisness and took cash only. He got everything else he ordered but he has me and another friend as witness's. Any idea or is he F#$ked.

Ouch! tell him to go talk to the guy first and then if he is an ass tell him i will see you in court!

I have Ross pistons sitting right next to me. The only thing on the top of them is the number 99815...Which I believe is the part number for 7 bolt Ross pistons. :thumb:

After looking at the motor he didnt get what he asked for at all. The head is a stock instead of a mild port and upgraded springs-retainers-oversized valves like he was supposed to get. The Block has stock 2g pistons and 1g rods instead of Ross piston and Eagle rods. I found out the only proof he has is a check that he gave to the guy. Where it say's memo on the check it says (his name and motor build) for $2500.00. He also used a credit card at the shop the guy was useing to do the work on his car for $1000.00. He paid cash for the rest. He has moved into his own shop since then and its been over a year so I dont know what he can do about this. Anyone have any suggestion about this or been in this situation.
Thanks AJ

Yea your friend got screwed. nothing he can do about it. unless their is something specific saying that he was buying a motor with eagle/ross combo he can't do anything legally. and the term motor build probably won't hold up in court because technically 2g pistons on 1g rods is a type of motor build, and the head could have been rebuilt. so your friend's chances aren't looking good in court. but it may be worth a try.

*I'm not recommending this or saying to do this, but you could wait for the guy out side of his shop and slap him around if you know what i mean.

In my opinion there is nothing you can do. You have no proff that the rod/piston combo he sold you was not at one time in the car. Looks like you got screwed on that one, sorry to hear it though. You will just have to work with what is there.

:shhh: ROFL

Man I feel so bad for my friend. He's so pisst off right now I had to talk him out of that already. I told him he should just go up to the guy and talk about what he did to his car and get the mood right wait for him to say a part that they discussed that isint installed and then show him the pictures and go from there. Then ask him if he would like to compencate or send some negative feedback on his business. If anything maybe he can get some free parts out of it.
Thanks for the post guys

Verbal Contract will stand up in court, I have used it as a defense against someone who I installed a Apexi Boost controller for in a 3000gt. He bought it then asked me to show him how to install it, and how to set up everything. I told him sure but after that I was not liable for anything that happened. Long story short he went and ####ed everything up in his car and tried to sue me for it. I told the judge what I had said, along with a couple of people who were standing there to tell the story the way it went down. Judge ruled I was not liable for any damages incurred after the install and set up. I mean #### how is it my fault the kid was a dumb ass and ####ed his shit up, thinking he can just play with his settings like that, someone we both know said he was always ####ing with it. #### I hate people. Guy was always asking...when you gettin a new body kit, when you getting your car painted, when you gettin this and that....#### because you know know rims add 10hp just like them ebay cans..#### ####! Ok I'm off to jump in the hot tub laterz
