All you playas with 7-bolt build motors (meaning anything crower, eagle, ross, wiesco ect... .020 over) represent in this thread. I just want to see how many 7 bolt motors there are that are actually built, it may help me change my mind about gettin a 6 bolt bottom and just sticking with my 7 bolt. :thumb: :talon:

Well this isnt my engine, but a cust engine that im doing. It'll be up and running in about a week.the car had 80k on it when we pulled the engine and had no C/W present at that time.It has eagle rods, wiseco 9:1,arp mains, arp heads, arp hardware in the eagles.clevitte bearings...We'll see in the coming months how it holds up.

my 95, and my buddys 93 7 bolts just walked a few months ago, i was all stock with 93,000 miles....my buddy had built bottom end and with a 2600 ACT, he walked.

I have a 7-bolt w/ .020 venolias and a turned down crank w/ oversized bearings. runs great so far although the motor only has 170 miles on it..no internal problems yet

Update us about that in about a month, please :thumb: :talon:

I had my 7 bolt 1G motor rebuild TWICE (I was a slow learner…). First rebuild failed right a way, because the bearings were not matched-up right to a machined 7 bolt crank (NEVER machine a 7 bolt crank!!!). I already had a good block and pistons so I rebuilt it one more time using a new crank. That motor lasted only 3k miles before it came down with crankwalk…

In both cases, work was done at two different “experienced” machine shops.

I swore NEVER TO TOUCH ANOTHER 7 bolt 4G63 motor again! Naturally, I would recommend staying away from them :). Unless it is a 4G64, people seem to have better luck with them.

GOOD LUCK!

Oh,by the way my 94 7bolt has 80k on it.about 10k of that it had an act 2900 and no probs with crankwalk.no probs til my head gasket went for the 3rd time.to lazy to have the head milled.(25psi:shhh:stock gasket)coolant in the oil spun rod bearing.my own fault.I knew it would happen but drove it home anyway. OMG

I just rebuilt my 7 bolt that had 90k miles on it with Ross pistons 30 over, eagle rods, arp head studs. Motor had a act 2600 in it for 10k miles. No crank walk yet.

My 7 bolt was built, Eagle/Venolias. Extreme motorsports built it. Lasted 700 miles and developed catostrophric walk....over .078" worth!! It was redone and has lasted now flawlessly with over 20,000 miles on it and 2 years. If it is built right and heavy pressure plates are not used, the engine should not walk. There are tricks, like cutting the thrust bearing cap out of the girdle that 7 bolts use. This allows the builder to set the 2 halves of the thrust bearing perfect.

Damn, that sucks, is your head instact?

Yep I heard the tapping starting when I would hit 3000rpm. Drove it only like 1/2 mile home.:thumb:

I'm headed up to Tampa to pick up a fresh 6bolt
Block.... bored .020 over and decked
Internals.... Ross 8.5:1 pistons
.................. Eagle Rods
.................. Like new Crank
.................. Balance shafts removed
.................. Whole assembly fully balanced
.................. ARP studs all through out!!!!
.................. New front cover Oil pump and Water pump
.................. Unorthadox Racing crank pulley
.................. Lightened Flywheel

So here I go with more fun.

i have a built 2.4 4G64
Eagle Rods
Wiseco Pistons
and a 60-1 :) pulls like a mutha even at 16psi :)

93 7-bolt, finishing up rebuild. No squirters, no balance shafts (rotated bearings), high volume oil pump, King bearings. Bunch of other stuff. Might finish it this week.

Wiseco pistons, Eagle rods, Web cams, 2mm O.S. valves, ported head, high stall converter, shift kit, etc, etc.

Update on my 7-bolt just got done w/ 2g mas and other stuff, pulls better than ever before!!

I had 95 7bolt built with Eagle/Wiseco combo and CRCO kit. Everyhting was fine till I got so much blow by on a dyno I was shooting gray smoke out my crank vent filter. I yet have to pull the pistons out but it looks like it was machinist fault with bore size or installing rings. I'll rebuild it and keep on going.

Ive had mine for 20k Je, eagle rod balanced front to back 2600 pressure plate big 16g. Now Im trying her out with my new 50 trim. If it dont hold Ill do a 2.4 with my rods.
