This is my first post so bear with me. I bought my first dsm 3 days ago, a 96 Talon Tsi AWD with 84k miles. It is the same car that belonged to focusedrage(he is a former member) but it has been stripped of all mods except the turbo, downpipe, exhaust, fuel pump, and shocks. I bought it from someone that he had sold it to. Driving home last night I heard a pop or snap sound from under the hood and the engine died. I pulled over and tried to restart it but all I heard was the starter spinning. I then had it towed to a friends house 5 miles away for $105(I think I got ripped off.) Looking under the hood with a flashlight, we saw nothing obviously wrong. We removed the oil cap and looked inside with the flashlight and saw one of the rocker arms had popped off. I decided to call it a night. Today we took off the valve cover and found a total of 6 loose rocker arms. I loosened the cam and put them back in. We cranked it a few times to make sure that there was oil pressure and reinstalled valve cover, plugs, wires, etc. Tried to start it but it wouldn't start. The cams are spinning fine and all the valves, springs and rocker arms seem to be moving correctly. Checked for compression on #1 cylinder and it was 0. From searching the site I have come to the conclusions that it could be the valves or pistons. I have another stock head that we will try to swap today. I hope that takes care of the problem. I am not very familiar with engine internals so I am not sure what else I should be looking for. I would appreciate any advice or insight that anyone can offer. Thanks
