So Ive been on a search for a datalogger to use in my car, 95 GST with confirmed Obd2 port (Torque app on Android connects and works pretty well with Bluetooth adapter). I was hoping to find something laptop compatible instead of a Palm or pocket PC... but at this point anything would be stellar.
I have already tried the following based on my current research and link following:
1) Bought eBay Obd2 to USB cable- Why not for $20 right?
When plugged into the Obd2 port the light on the cable comes on, so it gets power, good right? When plugged into the computer it doesnt recognize the cable... expected this
2) I downloaded every PC based datalogger program I could find, 3 total.
A) Easy OBDII
B) W OBD
C) OBD Graph
All three do not recognize the cable is plugged in.
So where do I go from here? I dont have the cash flow to do the lovely ECM or LINK. I looked into doing an EPROM ECU swap from another DSM but there seemed to be many unknowns with rough idles and injector wiring etc.
Kind of feel like this right now
since I have the funds to do injectors and fuel pump, but no solid way to tune... I already have SAFC that I picked up the other day to get things going.
So.... in looking more and more and finding reasons to spend my $$$. Is this my solution? How good is the software?
