Hey guys, i want to know what size rims and tires is the max for my car. I want to make the car look nice, but I don't want anything to get screwed up if i put on a rim that the suspension can't handle.

you can fit anything all the way up to 19"

The offset of the rims is the most important factor

I am running a 19"x7.5" Rim with a 42mm offset with a 225/35R19 tire and am lowered with Eibach Pros without any issues at all

you want the car to look nice, or do you want it to perform. anything over 17" will hinder the performance aspects of the car

Performance, definitely. Since the rotating mass of an AWD car really brings down the power in the higher RPMs, I really need some lightweight rims. I am currently looking at 17" WedsSport rims (16.5lbs).

since your talkin bout 19s would the 19x8.5 offset +38 mm fit without anyproblem I would be running a 235/35/19 tire i am just worried about the front end.

See WHEELWEIGHTS.NET for a good listing of wheel weights.

See wheel_tire_fitment_FAQ for how to calculate offset for any wheel/tire combination.

See Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels for prices, specs, and revs/mile. Try to stay close to the stock revs/mile.

See the remarks above for the trade off between appearance and performance. Wheels larger than 17 inch are pretty much for looks. After 40,000 miles commuting miles on my Talons original 17 inch wheels I had two bent wheels. After going to 16 inch wheels and 225/50/16 performance the wheels have survived another 150,000 miles.

Im thinking about dropping my 18's down to 17's very soon, but with my big brake kit up front., many 17's wont work. Maybe when the price of VIII bbk's or IX enkeis drop a little I will pick them up. I know right now my caliper is almost touching the wheel, so see sometimes 18's arent just for looks.

Sure enough, if you're road racing and the stock size brakes are fading, then bigger rims are needed for bigger rotors.

But on the street, Power Slot rotors with Axis Ultimate pads will invoke ABS on my Talon on dry pavement from triple digit speeds. And they fit in 16 inch wheels.

Bigger rotors look especially good with the calipers painted red.
