Rim offset question

So I am picking up a set of Kosei K6R's (17X7) that are listed as having a 38mm offset, I have heard that stock 2g wheels have a 46mm offset. Will going down 12mm cause any rubbing by bringing the rim closer or am I not understanding this whole offset thing properly? Ill be running the stock tire size for awhile, then going up to 225/45/17 after a while.

I don't have any suspension modifications at the moment, but might in the future if that comes into play.

17x7 on +38 will be fine but imho they are kind of narrow and that doesnt leave you a lot of room for rubber upgrades...
+38 will "push" the rims out closer to the fenders
(So a wider stance)

All the others I was looking at in my price range were 7.5, but when I saw these weighed 6 pounds less than the second lightest one I could find I had to.

Gotcha, ya I eyed some kosei's once they were pretty light.
In my 2g profile the silver rims are 17x7 +38

17x7 +38 with a 225 tire shouldnt give you any issues on a stock suspension.

I run a 17x9 +35 with 255/40s and have no rubbing issues.

Thank you! So if I'm looking at this right, I'll have more clearance between the fender and the wheel than with the stock wheels unless I run wider tires, right?
