I need help on my 91 laser. Plain and simple I've come to problems. Im a teen DSM owner and have been a fan my whole life. Now that i have one I need help on my rim fitment and tires and all that good stuff since Im about to order some online. So my current problem is i found some multi spoke rims for a good price at discounttires.com, andysautoshop.com, and yourhotcar.com all are great i just dont want to regret what i buy or buy the wrong thing so can someone please tell me what tire size i need if looking at about 17''s or 18''s rims and my other problem is whats the best width for rims because ive seen many 1gs with really wide rims that come out of the perimeter of the car by far I hate this as for its super ugly so again what tire sizes for 17 and 18''s rims and what rim width do i need so that it doesnt jet on the outside of the car i prefer the the tires to remain in the wheel well to keep a very smooth side on each side of the car thanks

I need help bigtime

I wouldn't go bigger than a 17" rim on a 1G, I'm running 17x8 on my 1G with 235/45/17 and it looks plush.

Once it gets lowered it will look aggressive, but you get the idea.

Honestly, since it's an N/T, 18s would still be on my possibilities list. What do I know, though. My 245s stick out past the fenderwell.

I had 18x7.5 with 235/??-18 and they looked great, fit in the fender and the car was lowered.

I can't remember the offset but there are lots of wheel fit guides on the site so you should be able to figure it out, but they must have been in the 35ish range.

I have 255/50-16 on 16x8.5 38mm offset and they fit inside the fender, I have also seen 16x7.5 35mm offset with 245/45-16 and they fit fine and inside the well so that should give you a good starting point.

I also ran a 16x8 50mm offset with 245/45-16 in the front, they fit but I could not run wheel weights in the front as the ABS wire mount stud would knock them off LOL, the rear needed a 15mm spacer so lets call it 35mm offset in the rear.

Don't worry too much about the rim size just look at it all as a package, in the front watch the OD as the spring perch gets in the way.
