Rim color choices?? Opinions needed.

Haven't gotten them mounted up yet. Will do ASAP.

As the base, I used a simple primer and then two light coats of "sunburst". I let that dry, then gave it two more solid coats.

They look much better in the day light. Ill get a picture up tomorrow if its not raining.

I would do Dark Red personally. Make it stand out more. If I could find a better color rim for my Magenta Grey Pearl I would LOL.

Subscribed. Can't wait to see how it all turns out. What paint did you use? Rattlecan?

Yes, I did rattle can. Kinda how I do all my painting. Ive had a few sets of wheels come out REALLY nice in the past years.

Tires mounted yesterday and mocked up before installation. CHECK IT!!

Sorry its so dark, where I park is somewhat in the shade.

The black skirts need to get painted to match. I was quoted $250 for the job by my Auto shop. I might try to do them myself first.

The rims look great! The car could use a bit of lowering along with white side skirts. Since you obviously have some experience, I would highly suggest doing the skirts yourself. Automotivetouchup.com is great with matching original paint color and could even be ordered in rattle cans.

Thanks for the compliments guys!!

PS - Already started painting the skirts. I'm pretty pumped about how they are coming out.

i love your ghetto drying booth LOL. That's awesome man. The rims look great!

hahaha It def gets the job done, without making the entire house smell like spray paint, which the fiance doesn't like.

Do you have a picture or part number for the color you used? Only wheel paint I've seen near me has been black, silver, and gunmetal.

Update:

Got the larger part of the skirts done last night, and even though I paint matched with the color code. The new pieces are a good bit whiter then the car itself. Regardless, it should look better than the black.

Pic to come soon!

For the wheels, I went to a few local auto stores. None of which had a Bronze or style of Gold for the wheel paint. I was looking around at different Automotive sprays and settled on a Ford color called "Sunburst". The color came out really nice IMO.

PICTURE!!!
Snapped a quick pic at lunch. Didn't have much time. More to come as this doesn't really give you a good idea of the paint match. Dang sun!

Did you just do the light and solid coats or did you also do a light clear coat for a little protection? I think they look great as long as they can last for a while without chipping and fading.

Sidenote: I see you got a different hood for it. Any chance you still have the old one?

That's awesome man. I thought about doing the same for my red 2g. Where'd you get enkei decals?

Thanks! Got em off eBay.

All the parts do have a good clear coat on them. I expect them to be fine for a good while. Touching them up of course is very easy.

The Carbon Fiber hood was sold in the classifieds.

Photo shoot time! Looks great man

ASAP man!
