Right size bulb?

Hello peeps I am just changing my burnt out hvac control light bulb in my 99gsx which I have researched and have found the size to be 74. I have a pictures showing that a 74 is slightly bigger, I am now thinking about just doing leds lights for all my lighting but I just want to know what size is the correct one for the hvac bulb. Thank you

Well I guess no one could give a suggestion, I just found out by going back to the auto store and happened to find these which worked perfect. (2721MF) I guess these also where called for as an alternative to #74 which was slightly thicker at the bottom. This extra size would not allow the #74 bulb to fit properly in the socket. These bulbs are the same as in the cig light and ash tray. I am going to do led's but now we all know which bulb size works. Oh you can even re use the amber sleeve if desired. Hope this helps someone down the road.

no problem and I can vouch for the superbrightled website, and they last a long time (did mine 4 years ago) no problems and work with the stock dash dimmer
