Reverse glow gauge inverter adhesive connector

Hi everyone! I just purchased a set of reverse glow gauges off ebay (probably not the best place i know) and of course they came with no instructions! The install seems easy but a few ideas im not to sure about include: Do they get set on top of the old gauge faces or do they replace it entirely? Also, there is a set of 5 different color wires coming off the inverter with an adhesive patch looking wire connector it seems at the end of them. (2 black, 1 white, 1 green, 1 blue) I contacted the ebay store I bought them from and he wasn't much help in figuring this out. Im wondering what I need to connect there and what is its purpose. I can post pictures later tonight if need be after work. Thanks in advace for your help.

This is what im talking about. on the reverse side of this piece with the circles on it there are 2 wire connections and an adhesive surface.

Each set of gauge faces I've always had over the 3 DSMs I've owned, I've always put the new faces over the stock ones. One reason for this is the little plastic spike thing that is attched to the stock face that keeps the needles from falling too far will not fit on the new gauges, I've tried... I doesn't work. Also, I've never incountered ebay gauge faces since I hate ebay, buit my. Guess is that the blue and green wires are for swapping the face color between those color hues, and the white and 1 black wire might be for a dimmer option. Maybe the other black wire is for just the grounding. Each set of faces I've bought has a control box for these functions and by the looks of your pic, that's probably what that tab is for. But again, this is my opinion, and a guess. This is why I don't get things from ebay.but good luck with the gauges.
