OK, I bought the SS return line kit from DSMotorsport. It's definetly a quality piece, but I'm having a problem with the install. The front motor mount is directly below the oil return on my PTE 5031. If I use the straight fitting on the turbo, it won't fit. Right now I have the 45 deg. fitting on the bottom of the turbo and I have a small (1cm x 3cm) piece of the mount cut out to make that fit.

What has everyone done to get the return on their turbos? I know I can't be the only one with this problem! Should I just cut a big chunk out of the mount to make the straight fitting fit on the bottom of the turbo? I was also thinking about buying another 45deg. -10an fitting to use so that both the oil pan and the turbo had them on it, however I don't really want to spend another 30 dollars if I don't have to.

Let's hear some opinions!!!

So that won't ruin the integrity of the mount?

Any pics of how much I should cut? I used a dremel to cut the chunk out that I already did and it took 2 disks to do the small piece. It's real thick metal. Any other ways to go about doing it?

I'm gonna go out and fiddle around with the line to see what I can come up with. I really wish I had the motor on a stand to do this :(

Just cut away enough material to clear the line. Make sure the line doesn't kink or have any abrupt bends in it.

That's why I found I need to cut more mount away. I have enough cut to put the 45deg. on the turbo, but the line is so long and twisty that it's making the turbo smoke after seeing high oil psi. I'll figure something out and post back.

Already got the turbo off to see where I'm cutting. I'll take a picture of them once I'm done though.

I think I just fried my dremel...hopefully cooling it down will fix it :coy:

Looks good. I'm pretty sure mine looks identical, I haven't looked at it in a while but I'm pretty sure it's cut about the same amount.

Cool. I know I took way more off the mount than I really needed to, but I didn't want to have to cut again. I figure go big or go home, right? It ended up taking 3 and a half of the re-enforced dremel cut off discs to cut through all that metal. I don't know what else would work, but the dremel was the easiest way for me to do it.

I think next time I have the motor out of the car I'll rummage through my spare parts and find another mount to cut and do it real nice the next time. Not like it's a spot you can really see anyways.
