I have a 96 gs with 2.5 inch cat-back. It does sound nice but maybe a tad loud (is not rice sounding... a.k.a. no farting). Would a resonator quiet and make the sound deeper and maybe a tad "meaner"? Also, would my performance stay the same? increase? decrease?

Thanks,
Brian

*I did search for this and got nothing :( *

What cat back did you buy, and did it come with a resonator welded in the piping?

If it didn't I'm sure adding one would help sound wise. From what I hear a glass pack is the same thing.

didnt buy one....its totally custom. just went to a shop that i know of a guy who does exhaust and told him i needed 2.5 inch cat-back. Its just 2.5 inch cat-back with a muffler...no resonator as of now.

thanks :)

Agreed. Most aftermarket bolt-on catback exhaust systems come with a resonator in place already. So, if you get your buddy at the shop to add one in for you between the cat and muffler, your exhaust will sound much better :thumb:

Glasspack and resonator have some differences. The inside of a resonator looks like a straight through muffler on the inside so it wont hurt performance as long as you stay with the same size piping.
