[RESOLVED] Underdrive belt size

Could someon please tell me what size belts I need for my car. I am getting a Unorthdox underdrive pully for the crank and would like to get the right size for it. Thanx for the help.

if the stock belt does'nt fit go to your local auto parts store and ask for a belt for your car and then tell them one size smaller, thats what I did works perfect!

I would wait till you get the udp. On the ps/ac side mine will only accept 4 rib (suppose to be 5 rib). Get the gatorback belt or gates. Belt size should be 49.5 inches

The stock size it much to large for an AF/X UDP, so I imagine it's also too large for the Unorthodox UDP, which is smaller than the AF/X. Take a look at the link rstare posted for the correct part numbers.

So this site sure helps give some insite on the size required. I hope that when the pulley arrives that they will have included the belt size required as a part of the paper work.

The AF/X UDP comes with the necessary belt which is always nice of them. What made you decide to go Unorthodox instead?

They shipped stock size belts with my AF/X UDP... maybe it was a mistake on their part, but as I said before, the stock belts do not fit.

It just seems to be the pulley of choice by the majority of dsmers. So if it works so well for them it will for me.

I bought mine from Howell a little over a year ago and everything seemed to fit just fine for me. I never really payed attention to the size, just assumed they were correct but I didnt have any problems.

I went to the unorthodox racing web site and got the suggested/recommend belt size of the installation page. Thanx for the help this comming friday my ride will go into the shop for timeing belt, pulley, and other work.

Well the work is done. It seems to me that all ready the ecu has made the adjustment for the new pulley. Is this normal? The engine revs quicker, and it feels stronger.

The ECU doesn't know the pulley is there. The snappier revving and extra power is from freeing up power that would usually be used to turn accessories.

This is usually the reason for using an under-drive pulley. Your results are as expected.

According to Unorthodox Racing's website, the proper belt for the alternator is a Gates K040320 (32.75 inches or 830MM). The Power Steering/AC belt is a Gates K050490 (49.5 inches or 1255MM).

Just had to look it up for a friend.
