This just started happening 2 days ago, i was driving for a bout an hour round town, and when i came to a stop at a light i noticed there was smoke or steam coming from the right side of my hood.

I pulled over and popped the hood but it was coolant steaming up its coming from the throttle body side under the intake i think.. and i can see a little bit of coolant on the ground too, this just happens after i drive it for a bit i know the heater hoses are back under there maybe one is leaking?? I did feel around back there and couldnt spot a leak on the hoses, what else is back down there that could leak coolant? thanx guys.:notgood:

The only hoses back there are the heater core hoses and the FIAV hoses that connect to the throttle body. Thats an easy fix.

Let the car come to operating temps and the coolant system build some pressure. Then pop the hood and rev the motor by hand on the throttle body while watching the coolant lines. That should help you find the leak. Then just replace the coolant line.

The coolant lines are the only thing back there that could leak right?? Im hoping its something stupid like that, i wanna go fix it right now but too damn cooooold out!!:(

Change every last cooling system hose. If one goes and they are all the same age the rest will not be far behind. You have 3 for the oil heat exchaiger 2 for the turbo 2 for the FIAV and the two heater hoses and also the main rad. hoses.

Do it once and you will never have to worry about them again.

Also when you are in there change out the thermostat and the cap and one gallon of antifreeze.:thumb:

Do it once, do it right.

Not :beatentodeath: You will save $$ in the long run.

I alsp had a similar problem and mine was coming from one of the hoses going to the heater core. The coolant was coming out and jitting the exhaust which was causing it to steam up. If i had to guess you are probably having tghe same problem. Check the two hoses running to the heater core then check back.

Found the culprit! One of the heater hoses had a gash by the clamp, Change ## hoses and rubber pieces ppl! Especially 1g, i got both heater hoses radiator and the little ones by the thermostat housing thanx everyone.

Don't forget the two down at the oil cooler. They get soaked with oil and all sorts of crud crap and coruption thrown up from the road and when they let loose they give you no warning!

DAMHIK

Sorry for necroing this topic but I have the same problem with the same car, problem is I don't see coolant on the ground,

I was driving for about 45 mins., just city driving, and I turned the heater for a bit, and when I parked I saw steam coming out under the intake side, so yeah I'm pretty scared, so is it the same problem as the guy above?
