take your starter off then beat it with a hammer and then if that doesnt work try a new starter it doesnt even sound like its turning over but try that

doesnt sound like its meshing with the flywheel check the bolts that tighten it on or you might have gotten an awd starter

same part number as the last starter so im guessing it is the same... anyone else knw. im getting another battery tomorrow hopefully that will fix it.

just keep us updated because if its not the battery then its the altenator and honestly i wish i could help more bro

try the coils or the ignition transistor ...had the same problem in the summer and it was that part..replace it they get old...:D:thumb::thumb::talon:

That's a little low on the battery voltage. Should be just over 12v. Check your grounds. You might not have enough cranking amps. Mine wouldn't turn over with it that low, it just clicked. I had to put jumpers on it and start it off my other car. Then found out my alternator had gone out.

Get a set of jumper cables and try to jump start it before you get a new battery. It will click like that when the starter solenoid doesn't have enough power to engage. If you can't get it started even with jumper cables then your "new" starter is crap already.

when i try to jump it off of my roomates tacoma it makes the same noise and i let it sit with his car on for a good 5 min befor i started it..... i swear if this starter is crap im going to kill someone because no napa has an eclipse gst starter in az there all on the east coast. 8 days it took last time to get it to me:toobad:

Well if you have enough voltage at the starter and its still clicking like that, then it definately sounds like a bad solenoid.

hmm well my "new" starter is just a napa remanufactured starter. and my battery volts are at 11.97 but it still just makes the same noise. well im going to kill this battery so i can bring it in and get it replaced.

ok so new battery now everything just dies when i try to turn it over and the positive side of the battery starts to smoke..... wtf could this be?

yea, check the positive to the battery and make sure its not getting hot, sounds like u have a positive short to ground, that could be stealing all the voltage from the starter. make sure u connected to cable to the right terminal on the starter. that clicking in the video is from a low battery. 11.9v is not ok. a good battery will be over 12.7, anything less is crap. and when running should read just over 14v

okay got a new battery from napa (brand new voltage red at 12.36v) car cranks now but will die as soon as i stop cranking it.... coil pack is getting volts. spark wires are getting volts. plugs are getting spark. and i can smell the fuel and hear my fuel pump kick on... and when i unhook the fuel rail fuel gushes out.... my wires go as accordingly. 3214, which is the only way it will even start for a second then dies. 4123, it just cranks. 2341, it will (what sounds like a backfire) pop then die. my car is a 95 with a 90 bottom end and a 97 top end. 97 cas. will post another video later today when i get home from work.

OMG

.....

there is 2 temp sensors one is for the gauge on your cluster other is for the ECM if the ecm temp sensor is bad cold starts will usually be more cranking and then a result of flooding and dead battery from constant cranking
