[RESOLVED] motor mount question

im about to buy prothane motor mount inserts..my 95 eclipse gsx didnt have the stoppers on the oem motor mounts.so my 2 questions are do i need the stoppers when i install the prothane motor mounts?
and also do the stoppers go on all the mounts or is it just the driverside mount and the tranny mount?

The tranny side is the only one with the stopper,the prothane ones usually wrap around the face of the mount anyway.On 1g's anyway,i assume they are all the same design.

You can instead fill your oem mounts with polyurethane caulk from the auto parts store. It's cheap and works.

Are you talking about the roll stop in the front and back of the tranny. Or the 1/2 inch thick plastic that is on the driver side and passenger side mounts? IF you’re talking about the /2 inch thick plastic that is replaced when you press in the prothan mounts the front and rear stops don’t get pressed out the little inserts just fit in the inside of those. The passenger and driver side mount need to be pressed out and the new ones just press in buy hand and will fit very snug in the mount cradles.

I just did some on a 1st gen. The front I had to have pressed out and in.I looked around to find the answer.I think your front mounts are just inserts you need good mounts.Or you can go the the store and buy the Poly. and make yours.
