[RESOLVED] Engine revs up and down! HELP!

i've searched and found nothing to my situation.. when i start the car, it revs up to 3k and stays there till it warms up and onces its warmed up it bounces up and down between 2 and 3k.. i just changed the thermostat, and new coolant.. any ideas that could be causing this?

Mine was doing that a while ago. First off it was a boost leak out of the injector seal, we fixed that and it did the exact same thing as you said yours was doing, in my case my cars idle wasn't set right and we just had to adjust the idle screw to get it to the perfect idle. If its doing what mine was doing your car is hunting for its idle try turning your screw to the right and it should bring your idle down, it may take a while (as did mine) to find your sweet spot.

When my car did the same thing, i did some research and found it was the FIAV, so i got an FIAV blockoff plate since they dont make new ones anymore, and it fixed it right up. This may not be the same prob you have but hope it helps.

my car did something similar.. could be a vacuum leak... fortunately for me, when my car was doing it, it was blatantly obvious and one of the lines from the BOV to the intake manifold had come loose.
