Alright I need pretty big favor. I am going to be replacing my head on my own for the first time, so I'm looking for someone to shoot me some tips on how not to screw it up. Step by step instructions would be ideal:thumb: but I can't seem to find them anywhere. If anyone has any good tips for me, or can point me to a good article please do.

Also, I am curious if anyone has changed their piston rings without pulling the block, and how much of a pain in the arss it was.

Thanks,

its kinda a pain to tkae the head off for first time... if you want to take it off with the intake manifold still on.. make sure u take off your downpipe and unbolt the intake manifold from block under neith. thats what i did to get mine off.

yea you'll see the 2 bolts that hold the intake manifold to the block once you get underneath it. Just pull the injectors out of the intake manifold .. not out of the rail or your garage will smell like shit. Other than that its pretty straight foreward.

You do not need to pull the block to swap out pistons. Just yank the head off, and pull the oil pan.

I am changing my head out probably tomorrow, I've just been doing some searches on some info and man, i have to give a big thanks for the posted link on the head rebuild. It is going to help me out a lot. Thanks again.
