Replacing clutch master and slave as maintenance before they actually fail?

Another poster in another thread seemed to give me the impression that he changes his master and slave every 2 years due to having a more heavy duty clutch installed.

I am running an XTD Stage 3. Recently my Exedy master and slave let me down after just under 2 years of use.

The clutch pedal was stuck to the floor and the tow home was well over $200.

Do any of you actually replace master and slaves as maintenance items under certain circumstances or is that excessive?

Thanks

Could you please move this to the brake section? Made a mistake by posting here.

Rather than replacing them, why not rebuild OEM ones? It'll be a lot cheaper than buying a new OEM one. And I don't trust aftermarket parts store ones either. YMMV

I don't have the OEM ones any more, that is the problem. I don't trust the aftermarket parts store stuff either. Big question though....can the aftermarket parts store stuff be rebuilt with OEM stuff when it fails and if so, will it be as good as OEM?

Thanks

The only difference between OEM and aftermarket is the quality of the seals. You can just get a quality rebuild kit.
