ive looked through the similar posts to this one but it doesnt seem to be my issue. my timing marks are dead on. the cams are lined up, the dowels on top of the cams are pointing up, and the crank is dead nuts. its getting spark and fuel, everything electrical and vaccuum related is hooked back up. i had to replace the cam position sensor due to it breaking when it came off. i turned it 6 revolutions and the timing marks are on. after cranking it does not start. any ideas?

Double check every single connection. It is easy to overlook these things and sometimes a single wire can cause a no start situation. If you have a friend or a hill somewhere you can try to push start it(pop the clutch). Have you tried starting it with a jump, it may not be spinning fast enough to catch.

havnt ran a comp test yet but i kno the valves are good. took the valve cover off and none of the rollers were loose like if they were bent. ima run a comp test 2moro. and ill triple check every connection tomorrow

I would say to check firing order as well make sure those wires are on correctly as well as rechecking every connector as previously stated.

From personal experience I was going nuts trying to start mine completely overlooking the air filter cluster connector being unplugged I forgot to reconnect it after changing the air filter DOH...

If your firing order was bad AND you had spark, you would hear it. Your engine should backfire like crazy. Not discounting it completely but a small possibility. How are you checking for spark? Obviously you have fuel and compression.

found out the issue was firing order. instead of 4123 its 3214. now it idles like shit tho. sounds like ive got a heavy cam in it.. ne ideas?

did you make sure the it was at top dead center on both the bottom and top end, when you put the timing belt on?

yeah i made sure the cams and crank were lined up before i put the belt on and i rotated it over a few times and made sure the marks still lined up. is this possible from like a boost leak?

even thou they line up your timing could be 180 off.

why did you replace the head gasket? One cylinder at 120 is not the best sign of a healthy motor.

replaced the head gasket because of an oil leak. and as for it being 180 off i watched the intake valves close on cylinder 1 and lined it up. and the cams have the white marks facing each other and the bumps above the bolts up.
