replace engine or new timing belt overhual

Okay guys its time to do a timing belt job on the ole DSM, however I have a rebuilt motor that has been sitting in my garage for around 4 years now. The rebuilt motor was taken out of my talon bc I broke off 3 flywheel bolts at the track one night. Now I had to get the bolts drilled out of the crank and I put new main/rod bearings in just for safe measure. Im just a lil hesitant about putting that motor back in. What's your thoughts.

Personally I'd just to the timing belt and save the other motor for when the one in the car now gives up the ghost. Either way you decide to go, if the motor has been sitting that long I would pull it apart and put assembly lube on everything before you put it in the car.

Same here. Id do the timing maintenance. Save that other motor until the one you have in there really goes. The new timing parts install is a little intimidating but its not that bad really. Id do it with the motor still in.

Either way you should be fine. Comes down to if you want a fresh motor or higher mile motor. If you do drop in the built motor as was mentioned it would be good to make sure it's lubed and good. I would change all he main seals just to make sure you are good to go. Good luck either way.
