removing heater hoses

So my car developed a coolant leak and couldnt find where it was until recently. Its the lower of the two heater hoses. I just decided to replace both hoses. Ive got both off the theromostat housing but cant get them off the firewall. Should i just cut the excess hose off and pull what little bit of hose is left with a needle nose like ive done before or what would you guys recommend? I feel theres a lip where the two hoses sit agianst the firewall but i dont wanna break off anything if its not metal. Thanks for the input

Cut them off and get 2 new ones, they may reach or not, better to get new ones rather than to strecth the ones to fit. There fairly cheap.

Razor blade works well. Cut it the long way then try and peel it off the pipe ends.

just wanted to make sure that where the heater hoses went to the firewall that that wasnt anything but metal. thanks guys

Thats a good one! Where the hose connects to the heater its only aluminum so it bends quite easily!

Sorry i wasnt more specific. They where they original heater hoses and the top hose was leaking around the clamp. So i thought that since one was leaking i might as well replace both of them. I noticed that they where aluminium as i was taking them off but they didnt bend so im glad for that
