can anyone tell me how to take the wipers off so I can remove the wiper cowl? I need to replace it.

I was afraid of that. It's not a good place to try and use heat (plastic, glass, and other delicate stuff in the area), and getting penetrant into them is iffy. Try PB Blaster.myeagleneedmods said:The screw that bolts the wipers to the car. They are right underneath those plastic caps.
