Can someone tell me how to remove the center vents on a 1g? I don't wanna just go start prying and end up breaking something in there. I searched but all I could find was for the 2g's

Alex is right about using a flat blade screwdriver. Look inside of the vent on the left and right sides of the center vent. You should see a metal clip on each side. Take two flat blade screwdrivers and use them to pry the clips toward the center of the vent and at the same time pull the center vent out of the center console. That's it. It's a little tricky getting enough hands to hold the clips and pull out at the same time, but those little clips are all that's holding it in. Hope this helps.

I had to do that when I installed my stereo deck....NOT fun. took me about 30 minutes to figure out the system and use it correctly. And yes using the 2 screwdrivers works best but be gentle and don't bend or break anything when you are trying to pull it out!!!

Excellent guys!! Thanks for all the input. Now I will go see what I can accomplish haha!!:thumb:
