Removing CAS stud (or its measurements)

Just to give you all a little background, the engine I bought came missing the CAS stud closest to the TB. Satan said the part was discontinued so I guess I have to find one elsewhere.

I guess I have two options....A) I figure out how to take out the stud from my old engine to show a parts store and see if they can find a close match (which will not be easy because I stripped the hell out of the threads trying to get it out). Or B) I give them the measurements of the stud and see if they can find a match.

So then...can anybody tell me a way of getting it out, or better yet, the measurements of the stud?

Oh by the way, I have a some 8mm x 1.25 threaded rod left over from making the timing belt tensioner tool. The threads seem to be the same as those on the CAS stud...would I be able to make one out of this?
