Downpipe Measurements

I HAVE A 97 GST WITH THE STOCK TURBO WITH A 3" CATBACK, I WANT TO GET DOWNPIPE...THE QUESTION IS, WILL A 2.5" ENGINE SIDE AND 3" CATSIDE DOWNPIPE BE A DIRECT BOLT ON OR WILL A FULL 3" DOWNPIPE WORK AS WELL...I AM UNSURE ABOUT THE MEASURE FOR THE DP TO BOLT UP TO MY MANIFOLD. ALSO, SINCE I HAVE MY STOCK TURBO DOES IT EVEN MATTER IF I HAVE MY STOCK CAT OR IS IT BEST TO GET A HIGHFLOW OR A DP THE GETS RID OF THE CAT ALL TOGETHER?

THIS INFO MY BE ON THE SITE BUT I SEARCHEF FOR IT AND I WASNT GETTING THE RESULTS I WANTED SO COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP...THANKS ALOT

Any downpipe made for the FWD 2G(95-99) cars will be a direct bolt on affair for you. Personal preference and the goals of your car should be used to determine wether you get a 2.5", a full 3", cat eliminating, etc, etc. Let us know how far you want to take your car, and that will help with suggestions on the downpipe.

WELL MY GOAL IS TO GET 300-375 WHEEL HP...RIGHT NOW IM TRYING TO TAKE CARE OF ALL THE BOLT ON UPGRADES THAT I CAN ALONG THE WAY AND THEN MOVE ON TO THE TURBO, FUEL PUMP, INJECTORS AND SO ON....I WANT TO RID MOST ALL THE RESTRICTIONS....SO IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT TYPE OF DP I SHOULD GET PLEASE LET ME KNOW...NO SO MUCH WHAT BRAND BUT MORE THE MEASUREMENTS AND IF I SHOULD USE STOCK CAT, HIGHFLOW OR DP THAT RIDS THE CAT...THANKS!

Just get the 3" downpipe and be done! Horsepower is a sick addiction, do it onc e be done with it.

Wouldn't bother with the stock cat. Now the question is does your state test emissions to even begin thinking about NO cat?

Yes, my state is NJ and it is strict...would a high flow cat make me fail? and are u saying to get a 3" DP with highflow and be done or 3" getting rid of the cat?

Something else to think about when choosing a DP is. What turbo are you going to be using with it? Some are angle different then the T-25...

i will be getting the evo 3 16g turbo...please check out that link too bc this car is new to me and i dont know much about it...i dont want to end up with the wrong shit ya know thanks again for all the time ## puttin in to help out...

If that obx is meant to bolt right up to the factory turbo then you'll have problems! Below is just 1 of the companies that make a solution:
