Doesn't seem very sarcastic with a " " after the comment.

LOL! THAT'S WHY IT WAS A SARCASTIC REMARK!

(BTW, in case you didn't notice: yes that was sarcastic too...)

You made an assumption based on one experiance on your car going against 14 years of DSM racing experiance with NO real basis. Why in the world would you do that?

i said i was sorry, so drop it before the thread gets closed. thanks. :dsm:

Read all of post #5. The MAP sensor outputs a voltage not a pulse train.
Second the MAF measures air volume per unit time combined with the baro and temp the ECU computes air mass per unit time. MAP just measures pressure and you have no idea of the volume of air moving. You would need a stand alone speed density setup to make it work.

Steve

Yes, but with what I am thinking it will all be incorperated. I will not get into it, I would not wnat someont to do this befor I do, well see.

I have first hand PROOF ,from back in the afc days on my car, that a car running just a stock mass has run with it unpluged and an afc. Now hear me out. I drove like this for almost a month. I installed the afc and I made outrages changes to the fuel settings and nothing happened.....was wired 100% correct and set up for karmen mass. mass pluged or unpluged reved perfectly fine. Called extreme....they were puzzled also. The afc showed readings from mass. Found out the afc was defective. Pluged my buddies in from his 240z and no more mass CEL and setting MADE a difference. Then pluged into his car (hot wire set up) and worked perfect on his car. I drove, raced it for a month like that....dont ask how it worked or didn't blow up but it happened. TRUE STORY

p.s- I have no idea how it worked. But I know you could never perpisly do this.

well i think the differance is that you have a 2g. I vaugely remember that the 2g's will guess your air flow if the mass isn't pluged in. They take your rpms, and use the MAP or something to get load and make an educated guess at airflow. Then it bases your fuel off that guess. So that would explain why the afc didn't change anything.

I don't think the 1G's had a accurate a guessing method. That's why you can idle without the mass but it is often rough and hard to drive with it off.
