Browsing the web and came across this. The article is actually using a vr4 as a test case. Pretty simple, but effective stuff.

Mods: This doesn't really affect stock 1g or 2g cars since the sidemount is better removed from the heat soak issues, but the article holds some merit for all front mount applications. I'll leave it up to you if you think there is a better place for it.
