After last weekend we though we had a tranny problem and where done for the season. It ended up I made a mistake and had a switch on that was supposed to be off:ohdamn:. We wanted to get back to the track before it closed just to make sure everything was good.

First two passes we put a mild tune up in it just to make sure everything was good. The last pass I leaned on it just a little and we ended up going
1.34 - 60'
5.61@ 127
8.69@ 159.5

Congratulations jesse, that car leaves super straight now.Just wow, can't say enough about the hard work put into that car, good luck in getting sponsorship in 2010.

Lookin' good bro. I need to see stuff like this. Without Jake around I haven't had any motivation to finish my build but now I have a target again LOL.. I'll put a picture of your car and face on my garage wall and throw darts at it to make me get off my a$$ and build!

Hahahah. I knew this car had it in there from the get go. For the people still sleeping on autos starting builds with manual transmissions I almost feel bad for them, its like the autos show up and start kicking down their sand castles on the playground.

I say its time to get rid of the glass since its not classified as a street car running those M/Ts. That would be enough weight to get you right on top of that mid 8s pass. Makes me happy to see the car doing so well. If you wanna pass on any pointers you feel free to send em to my pm box LOL.

I would assume that with the success of the red rocket that people are more hesitant to race your other street cars for $$$. They'd never know what they'd be getting themselves into.:sneaky::pray:

makes me happy to own a auto, nice 1/4 mile times you have. Out of curiousity do you have any pictures of the build? And is the car a full interior?

The goal for next year is to go some 50's and still fit into the "street car" rules for most of the local track events. I know its a loose turn but full glass is required along with 2 seats, int. from the b pillar foward, that type of stuff. We will get a few pounds out this winter and still fit the rules. :)

Congrats!!! That's screaming!!!

Mind sharing what is the suspesion setup/tires your running???

M&H 26x8.5 slicks. The suspension, kyb adjustables with some matrix fwd coil overs. Nothing extravagant but we have made our own custom alignment specs and alots of adjusting and tintering to make it work.

That's extremely Impressive!!! Congrats again!!! What are you reving to??? Are you having to shift into 4th gear at all? The car is setup up really well!!!

Oh you guys are allowed slicks in your street class... lucky dogs you are. We are restricted to DOTs only.

A lot of people are impressed by your ET, that as it may is a record but the MPH yo are getting with the auto is ridiculous. I remember when eveyrone had the 150mph hump, you are floating around 160s which is amazing. You are creeping in on Jakes numbers at this point. Here's to the future. :hellyeah:

Migtht I ask the reasoning for the FWD coils? I can take a mechanical guess associated with loading the drive train but I still wonder the benefits. I recently sold my Teins and have AGXs at this moment in time and need some coils so the QTPs fit. Feel free to PM me if its a secret.

That is insane, keep up the good work. Makes me want to drive an auto around to see what its like. hmmm.

Congrats again.

ITs just a good spring rate, you just have to modify the struts alittle.

When you get to run this fast, there isn't a bolt-on combo for any suspension that will make your car peroform like this, that is the most time consuming process in running the number.I know cause my dad drag races alot, although he's a rwd car,the principle is the same, each car unloads diff,so it takes alot of passes to dial it in.I can't imagine in an AWD platform dealing with the camber and the car wants to squat with the tires well into the wheel well, that's obviously solved with your car.And also during testing the trans braks often, which sets you back some more, that's where a sponsor helps ALOT.Once again, good work.

:

I couldn't agree with you more. I regret not building my car with an auto from the get go, Its just better in so many ways when you go in the sub 10 range. Im one of the ones who started my build with an expensive manual transmission, when this one lets go I will def be going with an auto setup.
