After some bottom-end work on my car, where I simultaneously discovered my turbine wheel apparently had eaten an EGT-tip, I had to rebuild my GT3071R turbocharger.
I had a mishap once before, costing me my compressor wheel. Back then I bought a whole replacement original CHRA - this is the one with the now chipped turbine wheel. This time, I decided not to get a whole new CHRA because $$$, but instead got a rebuild kit for the ball bearing + new seals, while using the turbine shaft of the old CHRA. Rebuild went fine, and everything seems okay.
I have a question about balancing: I did notice every rotating part seems to be internally balanced. The exhaust shaft + wheel has balancing marks where material is ground away. The turbine wheel also has its own balancing marks. Even the locking nut has a balancing mark.
Basically my noob question is: does this mean the entire assembly (all original garrett parts) is likely to be balanced since all individual parts seem balanced, or do I still need to find a shop that does VSR balancing?
