Rebuild check-list...

My block is out and at the machine shop and will be receiving the following:

1g rods
Re-using my pistons with new Mitsu rings
Federal Mogul Rod and Main bearings
BSE kit using Mitsu parts

I have searched about oil squirters but didn't really come to any conclusion, should they be removed and plugged or welded, or should I get new ones, and if so, 1g or 2g?

Well I wouln't eliminate them unless it's a a pure drag car which it is not if you are re-using OEM pistons.. Take them out and have them throurly cleaned.. The 1G oil squirters tend to not stick open as much as the 2G squirters, but I'm not totally sure if you can swap them straight across..

I was personally going back and forth on takeing them our or kepting them for my new motors.... I've decided to just clean up out and use them... They don't squirt until more than 40+ PSI of oil pressure is seen... So you don't loose oil press at ilde and they will extend the life of your pistons a good deal as they really help to cool them off...

I will probably buy new ones in that case, they are only a few bucks a piece.

Does anyone know if 1g squirters are direct replacement? Should they come from a 1g 6 or 7-bolt block? Or should I just get new 2g squirters?

wondering the same, didnt even know you could replace them.

btw, why are you reusing the pistons?

The squirters are in CAPS and I checked availability with the local Satan.

I'm re-using my stock 2g pistons because they are fine and also because I cannot afford a forged setup at this point.
