Reasons why i would be blowing the Engine fuse (20A)

what would be some of the obvious reasons as to why my engine fuse inside the engine bay would be blowing everytime i try and start the car?


heres what happend:

i took it for a spin(breaking in engine) drove for a good 2 hours. came home, parked, turned off, came back to turn it back on to find that it would just turn over, it wouldnt start. check the fuses and the Engine fuse is blown.. hmm so i jump it with a regular fuse to only blow that right away.. i did NOTHING to it.


any ideas?
 
guys i really need ideas.. ive pulled the whole interior apart.. looking for loose end wires.. what would cause this to happen? something mechanical in the engine bay? or just a short wire? could you help me narrow that wire down if so?

please help me with ideas

the car now sits on the side of the road.. i got it to work for an 1/8 of a mile before it blew again

Check of any exposed wire or bare . Wire could be touching something in the engine bay causing you to blow the fuse.Also have you installed any new electronic's?
 
what you need to do is find a wiring diagram to see what wires and sensors are in direct correlation with that fuse. The fuse is blowing because of the obvious either current overload or short circuit. My guess would be you have an exposed or kinked ground wire.
 
At one time right after an engine that I had done, my engine fuse kept blowing also. It happened about 6 times before I figured out it was the o2 sensor connector (where the o2 sensor wiring meets the harness) was getting wet as I was filling the coolant.

As soon as I blew that out with compressed air and let it sit for a little bit, it never happened again.

So check and make sure no miscellaneous connectors are getting wet.
