apart from the rhyming title, this is not funny to me!

I drive a 97 GSX, i just had new front and rear tires put on. Welllll, the rear ones are almost slick while the front ones still look quite new. I know that the place (black's tires) that put them on, did not know it was an AWD car, but I didnt think about this until now. I do not know if this problem is associated with the other problem with my rear end sliding out in wet conditions, or the roaring sound in the back. But this really needs to get fixed. Any ideas of what might be causing it?
