alright, I was trying to install speaker for the rear. I took the screww off and the top just pops off. The problem is, the bottom wont come out. Is there a way to take the bottom off? I cant change the speakers with the bottom still attatched because i cant get to the speaker screws.

Are the front and rear speakers the same size? I have pioneer 6 1/2 that i want to install. I know It wont fit but i am going to try to mod it and make it fit.

Thanks

you can tell from the rear grills that there not the same size as the front.

there is also a screw under the rear seat on each side panel.

The rear speakers can be 6.5" or 6X9". The fronts can be 6.5" or 4.5". The front door speaker can match the rear kick panel speaker.

my front's at 6-3/4 and i have a 6.5 mounted in temporarily with a little piece of metal just to fill the gap... kinda... rigged it..
my rear's are 6*9
i also have those dash speakers... 3.5's maybe? i'm never going to touch them though.. looks like you have to pull the whole dash apart...

Take a flat head wrapped in a cloth, and they pry right up.

what the heck did you mount them to? the door metal? just use the plastic 6.75 mount that is on the infinity door speakers. it works perfect. you might have to cut the end off for magnet clearance but if it will hold a kicker 6.5 sub (not mid) it will hold anything!

Yeah, they actually pop out pretty easily. The problem is, what do you replace them with? I'm thinking of putting tweeters from a component set in there, with the woofer in the door location.

Thats what i did with mine. I used tweeters for the dash, i cut a circle in the grill and the tweeter sat in there.

I took apart all da panels and everything. I am tryin to install 200watt 3 way pio's in da back and sony xplod 150watt 3way in the front. The thing is, there is not much BASS with the speakers.

Would i get better sound with an AMP? I have kenwood(does not seem to be so big in WATTs), 1500watt(forgot the name), and sony xplod 444watt laying around the house.

the previous owner seems to have had a system in the car which was taken out. There are all the power cables and such under the back seat. So I dont think it'll be that hard to install an amp.

yes you will get more midbass with the amp.

t get bass you really need a small sub, even a Basslink will be very good in a Talon/Eclipse.

I know, thats what I have to carry me over until I can get my full system in.
