Awesome thanks! I got one ordered and it is on the way. Do you guys know if there are any walkthroughs out there about replacing the pinion seal? I checked in my Haynes manual and it suggests taking it to a mechanic for the replacement, but I would rather do it myself and save the money if it is something I can do. I searched around but couldn't find any tutorials so I was hoping you guys might know of some?

Thanks again!

I have never done one on a DSM, but I have done one on my Jeep. It was a little more complicated. Im NOT sure if a DSM is the same way.

First you remove the drive shaft. Then you have to get a gauge type torque wrench NOT a Clicker type. Then you are suppose to TURN the pinion (where the D-shaft hooks up) and read the amount of torque it takes to rotate that rear end.

Now you can take the bolt off. and replace the pinion seal.

The important part is when re-tightening that pinion bolt. You have to make sure the rear end turns at the same torque level as it did before you took off the bolt. If that makes any sense.

I like to MARK the pinion shaft and bolt before taking them off. It helps line everything back up.
