Just bought a 98 gsx with minor damage and need an entire new rear shaft but they cost over $1000 at the mitsu dealer and the salvage yards ask is it a locking differential. the mitsu dealer says there might be a switch on the dash if it is or you'll see an extra vacuum line coming out of the differential, no switch on the dash, damn that would have been nice, and i couldnt see or feel the top of the differential. on the differential it reads Viscous LSD VHF 3.545. does anyone know if this is locking?

i need an axle so you wouldn't think they would need to know what differential it is, unless the end that goes into the differential is different, you cant underestimate the salvage yards though

i think you're right on that, the LSD is considered "locking", if not i just ordered the wrong part.. live and learn ... thx
