Hey,
Couldnt seem to find anything about it unless i missed it somewhere,

but i was looking into converting my rear drums into rotors.
I have the rotors but im not quite sure how to or where to get the parts to convert it over and i figured here would be the best place to ask.

any help would be greatly appreciated ide like to get started asap:)

95-99 Eclipse GS, GST, GSX; 95-98 Talon ESi, TSi, and TSi AWD. The Eclipse RS, Talon ES, and "base" models, are the only 2g's that had drum brakes in the rear.

Grab a sway bar from one of those vehicles to install also.

The writeup on 2gnt is a good one to follow. You can also use the rear disc setup from a 2000-2005 eclipse with disc brakes. Everything works the same. Not sure if everyone did this, but if you shave about 1/8 off the parking brake input on the backing plate, you will be able to install the e-brake cable locking pin, and keep the rear from instantly grabing when you nudge the e-brake.

If this is confusing, I can send you the pictures of what and where Im talking about.

Thanks for the info and ye any pics would be a grate help. i cant fallow directions worth a crap but im pretty good at goin after pics :)

:talon: [email protected] :talon: if ya need an address to send it to.

also- do u know if its possible to convert one side and leave the other as a drum and still be able to drive properly? or do they both have to be converted at the same time

I sent you an email.
Convert them both, Doing otherwise is pointless, and dangerous.

For everyone else, this is what I was speaking of.

Thanks.

One More final Question if any 1 can answer is

According to that link, it doesnt mention getting the control arm. it jus states i Need the Calipers and mounting assembly (unless mounting assembly implies control arms)

I already have Drill/Slotted Rotors for the rear and pads

Shouldnt all i need is the Calipers and its mounting assembly or will that not connect to my control arm?

Took Just Over 4 Hours to complete...mainly because my rear lugs were stripped :| but other then that it came along good and looks great.

thanks to everyone for tha help

Yea I heard is easy, I replacing the fronts with the Baer kit and didn't know if I could use the front calipers and mounts.

Sorry for the old thread guys...
hey better to open a new thread...
so is it different for 1G to do the rear disc brake?

is it just look better or it acutally works better?
i am thinking about doing rear disc break mod.

Are you saying that your 90 turbo has rear drums instead of discs?WTF I would gues that someone converted them to drums. I have never seen a turbo dsm that didnt have rear disc brakes.
