I'm in the process of re-upholtering my 1g (getting rid of the nasty rainbow fabric). My question is how do you get the headrest off? I've tried everything I can think of, but I can't get the damn thing off. Any ideas would be appreciated.

tsi's? what years ive never seen them, my old 92 gst had an extra piece that was an extra cushion but not a headrest

My TSI is a 92 but I think that sliding head cushion is what he ment by a heatrest. At least that is how I took it.

i want pics!!!! i would like to get these seats for my 93 gs with show car plans for it, LCD Screens will be much better in headrests like that

I guess technically it isn't a headrest, it's just kind of a lump :D that's in the seet that you put your head on.

and dave99gst thanks alot for the informative reply  you really don't think I tried that?

"push and hold button in" and pull harder than you are. It should slide out (WARNING: It might take some effort! ;) )

Dave wasn't being sarcastic, it's how you take them off.

before I try it, which way to I pull on it? Last time I tried to pull it off I was afraid that I was gonna break it and that would suck.

so then its not an actual removable headrest, its a removable head cushion like i said my old gst had
