did you cover the deck lid in Stereo Box carpet?....it looks really good...and how hard was the headliner to remove?...everythign looks great...is the headliner vinyl?

Yep, thats basically the same stuff audio shops use to cover speaker/sub boxes.

Thanks for the compliments.

For any questions about the headliner process, there is a write up done here .

It was fairly easy to remove, I actually got really lazy and didn't even bother removing the panels in the rear/b pillars, just pried em down and took out the headliner through the rear hatch.

Thanks for the compliments.

that seems like a project...i'll wait till spring to tackel that one...but thanks and ya it def looks good...better than paying for someone else to do it...post some pics when it's back in the car

Haha you wouldn't believe, this whole process actually began last spring. I have all my interior repainted in black sittin on my floor. I've literally painted each piece, stripped it down and repainted about 2-3 times just because I'm absolutely anal about quality.

I'm the type of person who will not mind spending the extra money to get a quality product, thats why I was thinking of just reupholstering EVERYTHING I can in vinyl/leather.

I'll keep this thread updated as I progress, hopefully add to the database that has yet to exitst (at least with my searching).

now thats dedication...i tried to do that with my previous car...i just hated it looking like ass with everythign gutted..which is why i only wanna do the deck lid and headliner...and get my seast done by a pro...all the panels and such i'm gonna leave...and i like the grey it goes good with the red IMO

mad props on the work in the last post. What kind of material did you use on the headliner there? Would love to see a pic of that installed. Thanks.

Quick update, just finished the center console. Had to cut it into 3 pieces in order to properly wrap everything in leather, came out great.

I had step by step pics but I think they got accidentally deleted. Next is the headliner, redone in vinyl and I'm gonna start the door panels soon. Once the warm weather comes I'll get to look foward to finishin the beast!

Here are the pieces disassembled.

Thanks a lot. It's amazing what you can learn from a little trial and error, this is the first time I've ever attempted something like this and if anyone is in anyway intrigued they should try it if they have some spare time, it's quite relaxing. Thanks for the compliments

I must say that looks really nice I wish I had the time and money to tackle a job like that. Well done

You know I always used to say the same thing til I realized it only costs 12 bucks a yard and I can do it whenever I'd like. I'm a full time student and also work full time so there isn't much time for fun and games either, but a couple hours each night and things slowly progress!

BTW, this has only cost me about 40 bucks in supplies, which includes the fabric and the adhesive. Everything else (scissors, hot glue, alcohol, sandpaper) I already had available.

The pictures don't really do it justice, I can't wait to get it all finished and back inside the car.

anyone have any more info on how to do the door panels like that guy did? can any interior shop do that or will i have to have it custom done? its very clean and something im going to look into as opposed to BS paint.
