Heres the deal my crank bearings went out. However about 6 months ago i bought an engine with 89000 on it off my cousin (it was taken care of). Since the bearing went out of my last motor I'm just leary. I want to put good main/rod bearings in and while I'm there re-ring or replace the pistons (the pistons are in good shape, no scratches) I know the rundown is not my 1st rodeo with a rebuild on a 4 cylinder. My question is what bearings should I put in (brand name-alloy makeup). Now for the pistons or piston rings what rings or pistons if I decide that way... pros and cons to each.

My mods are:
272 lift cams
Cold air intake
Free flowing exhaust

In the near future:
Header & downpipe
CPU tune/replacement
Injectors (no clue what size to go with)
Fuel pressure regulator (if needed)
TB port

OK guys/gals I did a little research around the forum and relized there's alot more answers to "what bearings" than "re-ring"... Also I looked for pistons that way to... thanks for not flaming me, i'll use the search a little more

Thanks for agree to search more...

I can tell you I used a JE piston/ring combo with Clevite 77 bearings (rods and mains). Obviously, I thought those were the best for me, but I can't speak for others. It's a matter of opinion between many top name brands. If it's a toss-up between Autozone and Satan parts though... go with Satan.
